Student Excursions

At the Australian School of Tourism and Hotel management we take the education and training of our students seriously. Part of our committment to our students is to ensure they are exposed to as many real life and operational environments as possible throughout each semester of their studies.

In order to achieve this we have a number of educational excursions built into our courses with selected industry partners which enable students to experience first hand these organisations and operations. Thes include:

Sheraton Perth Hotel
Broadwater Hotels and Resorts
Quay West Resort Bunker Bay
Swan Brewery
Hilton Perth Hotel
Joondalup Resort Hotel
Hyatt Regency Perth Hotel

Hospitality Excursions 2007

CERT IV Excursion - Swan Valley Tour
Students set out on a 2 hour river cruise, arrived at Lancaster Estate for wine tasting and a buffet lunch.  Boarding a coach, the students discovered  a number of wineries, breweries, with the last stop being  the  chocolate factory for truffle testing. The students’ aim was to analyse the excursion from a tour guide perspective.  Congratulations to Duncan Chivese, Regina Tan and Jean-Denis Carosin who excelled in this activity.

DIPLOMA Excursion –  Mandurah Discovery
Enjoying canal front accommodation, cruising the canals of Mandurah and finishing the day off relaxing in the pool was included in the Mandurah Discovery excursion.  As part of Event Management studies, the students participated in an on-site inspection of the venue used to host the Mandurah Boat Show.  The winning team went above and beyond expectations by interviewing local businesses to analyse what impact the Boat Show had on local business.  Congratulations to Michelle Lee, Ray Or, Alvina Loitz and Su Jin Lee.
